Date for post-exam dinner

Please discuss the best date for the next dinner below.

Hannah: I'm away 12-16 June so vote for any date that's not any of those!

The discussion last night was favouring a date after Jamie's exams but before Greg leaves for France, possible around the 16th June.

John Biggins:I finish exams on the 4th I think, but would like the dinner to be as late as possible to ensure none of my neighbors complain.

Lionel:I'm away as of 15th June and have to run 10k at 8am on that morning thus the 14th looks out. However I'll be up on the 14th for a Business related thing, so for me the 13th is an option, as is the 12th. If the majority vote is for other dates though, so be it.

Chris:I'm not too bothered when it is but, to point out the obvious, it certainly shouldn't be during May Week.

Egg:How about the 26th July... night before the wedding?....

Sarah:I finish project on 8th June (assuming I have written my report) and am in Krakow between 12th and the 15th. So Fri 16th would suit me nicely, as would the 17th.

John Biggins:Egg, where on earth would we host/cook it? Also, I think the wedding would poorer for following an all night dinner.

Greg:My exams finish on 6th June, so any date between then and 20th June (excluding 11th) would be fine, as far as I know at the moment. Friday 16th certainly sounds good.

Clare:Any time after the 7th would work for me- 16th sounds like a good option

Helen:In a contraversial move can I suggest Juliette's room as a suitable venue? There are plenty of chairs in the rooms downstairs and nice long tables which would mean there would be less problems with furniture. We could have drinks outside beforehand and a survivors game of croquet! As for kitchens her one would make a very good pantry (maybe you could use jamie's room for that too) and there are quite a few more in neighbouring buildings that could be commandeered... I would expect there to be less need of hotplates etc. than at other dinners because the courses are more likely to be cold. Of course it may well be that John will get that room next year!

As for date I guess I am quite flexible. Before 20th June is about all i can say at the moment.

Martin:I would prefer if it wasn't on 14th or 15th, otherwise fine.

Rita:I will finish my exams on 8th June. I can't make 14th and 15th either as I want to go to Alton Towers (to celebrate my 21st birthday over a year later).

Juliette:I'm confused, I thought that the 16th was a Saturday? I'd prefer it if it wasn't then as there is a nice concert on in Kings Chapel but I guess I would come anyway whenever it was, so it doesn't mater particularly. Just wanted to try the wiki!

Juliette:Oh no! I broke the badger! Sorry Nick. I've fixed him, but he's not happy,James

James:I think I finish on the 12th and am pretty free after then. I could even do the 12th, but I would be in zombie mode.

Nick:Oh rubbish, I'm not good for 14th/15th/16th, but mid-week may be possible, if not too early. Will generally try to come whatever you decide on.

Greg:Sorry for contributing to the confusion around what day the 16th is. It is indeed a Saturday, and thus better than if it had been the Friday (for which I now have other plans that involve a journey on the dreaded X5).

Sarah:Sorry - I think it was me that caused day/date the confusion, not you Greg. 16th still looks good. Maybe 17th (although that is sucide sunday, I cant say I will be busy)? I like the idea of suvivors croquet! Good one Helen.

Martin:I attempted to repair the badger, but I don't think it looks right... what was it like before?

Helen:Definately not the 16th- I'm singing the dream of gerontius at guildford cathedral with the bach choir. Will keep you posted if i think of anything else.

James:Definately not the 15th- I'm being a mathmo.

Jamie: I would not attend, I'm afraid, were it before the 12th of June, nor were it on the 16th of June. Nor the 21st, but then that is clear anyway as that is May Week. Otherwise any time. I would have no problem with the 24th or the 25th.

Architects:  There seem to be quite a few problems with this range of days.  Would there be any problems with Sunday 24th or Monday 25th?

Sunday would be a bonus here as I shall have to miss work 2 days if it's on the Monday...

Juliette: Good work with the badger. I have to go to a conference at the CMS on Tuesday, so Monday would be difficult for me (well, I'd have to go to bed early, which perhaps I could do if necessary)  Sunday however would be fine.

Greg: I'm afraid those dates are no good for me - I'll be in France - but if they suit everyone else, then I don't mind if you arrange it for then.

Rita: I can only make 24th Sunday as I will be leaving the U.K, on the 25th.

Sarah:  24th is fine by me. How come the badger looks more whole in the edit page than in the real page? Perhaps its just this old old computer, maybe makeup has gotten inside...

Martin: Both 24th and 25th are fine for me, as are most of the days around that time in fact.

Clare: as far as i know, i'm free on both of those dates. But nick and i are also offering them as possible dates for marriage prep sessions, so i'm afraid i can't say for definite. but certainly better than the week before.
